Hello Bloggies!

Its 4 days until Christmas so I will be taking a slight break from blogging! All I want to do is put on a bunch of cashmere and sit in from of the fire watching christmas movies.

So far my holiday has begun with numerous Cafes and Hot ChocolatesΒ

Gold Painted Chanel nails for parties to come…

And some Christmas shopping….some special little things for myself too – would you pass these up if you saw them all beautiful like this on display? πŸ˜‰

So I leave you with the great vocal stylings of Judy Garland and wish you a happy and healthy holiday!

Ciao!

Yup I’m most definitely in LOVE!

Hello Bloggies,

So, despite the fact that the spring 2011 shows in Paris were in October, I am feeling like a little pick me up this morning so I decided to review the collections for this blog (cause I started after October — I know..lame) πŸ˜‰

But anywho, show seasons are my favorite (and for other runway addicts, I trend watch by Paris first, no disrespect to Milan) so normally I would be more on time but I have been major busy the last couple of days and have been away from my computer. Back again I quickly hoped over to NY Magazine website fashion section – and this is where I found love at first sight…

ELIE SAAB SPRING 2011

Now, I will let you know that I am already committed to Saab. One of my favorite designers, I most always love their collections. However, due to the lack of color that found its way to some of the other houses this season, I found myself enchanted back in October by the honey melon, blush stone, light – almost robins eggs blues, greens (which technical shade has lost my mind at the moment), sparkle, chiffon, double crepe jersey, and unique prints. THIS IS SPRING LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. None of this brown and black. I’m talking a real spring runway show – full of color, exuberance, honey dew blushed skin, highlighted hair, and happiness. Back to the days of the great Yves Saint Laurent and Coco Chanel. Where springtime in Paris meant color and happiness and above all FASHION. So here are pictures of the beauty (a lot because I had a hard time editing down the collection). Actually you probably skipped my long rant and went straight to the pictures, but I’ll pretend like you didn’t πŸ˜‰ So if you have already seen this show – you know what I’m talking about..and if you haven’t heres to looking forward to this spring!

I NEED this entire outfit and shoes in my wardrobe – just sayin

perfection! This color and the blue will be my colors for spring – you heard it here first!

Oh- and this color too

Actresses—start your bidding for this dress for awards season!

BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO

Well I hope you enjoyed the collection as much as I did! further updates to come with Spring 2011 Paris

Ciao and Ta Ta for now

Hello Again Bloggies!

I am back once again and this time to discuss one of this winter’s most prominent trends (especially in the cities) – the fur vest. Now, I am not an advocate for fur, so I am going to have to side with going for faux fur. This trend is so in right now and there are a lot of beautiful faux fur alternatives to the real thing. But regardless of my opinion on the matter, lets talk about this trend! Now black fur vests have come full force this season and are really quite chic. I prefer them styled a la Ms. Palermo, one of my style icons in the first photo, with some leather leggings and an all black look. Brown faux fur vests are also in style and can look quite chic if styled correctly.

Whether styled like Elle:

Or two of my fave stylistas MK & A

You cannot go wrong…unless you pull one of these:

She may be fabulous, but her faux fur is not

All kidding aside, reasonably priced vests can be found all over, but I particularly love this one sold by Victorias Secret:

Ta Ta and Ciao for now!

Tis The Season once again for….

Creamy White Coats and….

Icelandic Sweaters with leggings and faux fur

HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON EVERYONE!!!

The holidays are truly the most wonderful time of the year. And despite my general disdain for cold weather, I do love transitioning into (some) winter fashion πŸ˜‰

I was perusing this past Fall’s collections, for now is the time that we can actually put some of those trends into good use. For example, the Icelandic sweater that took center stage at D&G. This print has forever been a staple at “bad Christmas sweater” parties but leave it to the geniuses at D&G to make it fabulously enviable! The prints are beautiful, the colors complementary, the fur sparsely added for a chic statement. When I first watched the show months ago, I immediately wanted to jump to December, grab my Icelandic mini-sweater dress and oversize chunky knit scarf, and fly away to a ski lodge in Aspen.

Now is the time when we can actually do such a thing..for the weather outside is frightful but the snow is so delightful. Although, I know few who could actually just jet off to Aspen on a moments notice with a new D&G sweater, but hey, we can dream can’t we?? πŸ™‚

Happy Holidays everyone! I’ll be doing more holiday posts soon with more than just fashion (gift ideas on a budget, food, decorations ect.) but for now I leave you with visions of Dolce and Gabbana dancing in your heads… πŸ˜‰

Ta Ta for now and Ciao!

Street Style

street style, classic

Hi everyone!!

This is my first post for my new blog Gisele in the City! I am very excited about this blog and thought I would take a minute to discuss what it is about. Short and sweet, I love fashion – always have always will. I am a religious follower of designer collections and love adapting the looks on a lower budget! A city is a great place to discover and see fashion at its best, which is why I am devoting my blog to not only fashion in general but fashion inspired by particular cities. That being said, I could not think of a better first post than street style, because what’s more city than street style?? πŸ™‚ I am starting us off with a look that I love via the city of lights. This is a model in Paris rocking the forever classic mens-wear blazer and navy blue and white striped tee. Matched with some skinny dark jeans and black boots she looks forever chic! I know this is a quick post and I will put more pictures in later.

Ciao!
